Join us for this unique opportunity to learn more about how museums care for objects in their collection with Ellen Chase, Objects Conservator at the National Museum of Asian Art and Melanie King, art historian. In this two-part program we will learn how a conservator evaluates, conserves, and cares for three-dimensional objects in the collection of the National Museum of Asian Art. We will learn about the agents of deterioration and will have the opportunity to apply information presented to real life examples that can be translated into classroom activities.
This program is free and open to current, in-service K-12 educators of all grades and subjects. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out at earc@uw.edu.
