Okinawa: Past, Present, and Future

Join us for this unique opportunity to speak with staff members of the Okinawa Prefecture DC Office to learn more about the history, culture, environment, and on-going issues surrounding the vast US military presence in Okinawa. This interactive session will be led by historian Tracy Lai and art historian Melanie King and include a presentation by members of the Okinawa Prefecture Office located in Washington DC followed by discussion and Q&A. This session will be of particular interest for teachers of social studies, history, government, ethnic studies, current events, anthropology, global/international studies, peace, and environmental studies.
