Summer Online Book Club Explores Chinese Culture

Calling all educators, librarians, teachers, and anyone interacting with learners of any age! Join our enriching virtual book discussion event centered around the captivating children's literature "Eighteen Vats of Water" by Ji-li Jiang (Author), Nadia Hsieh (Illustrator). Through the young protagonist Xianzhi's perspective in the book, we can explore the virtues of calligraphy, as well as the enduring power of wisdom and perseverance. The protagonist learns that true mastery requires more than just talent and skill; it also requires a steadfast commitment and practice. The story underscores the importance of combining one's talents and efforts in order to achieve one's dreams. Following the story setting discussion, we will have a breakout room for educators to share how to use the book in classrooms.
