What does a magical elixir, a Jade Bunny, and a selfless act have in common? It's the perfect folklore for the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is traditionally celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar calendar all over Asia (this year it takes place on Sept 25).
In this free online workshop for elementary educators, we will be teaming up with our colleagues at Pitt's Asian Studies Center to discuss how Mid-Autumn is celebrated in such countries as Vietnam and China, with folklore that is unique to each country. This workshop will be just in time to help you make the Mid-Autumn Festival even more meaningful for your students. Join us as we share lesson plans for your classroom and highlight a variety of picture books, chapter books, and other resources.
