Workshops

The Music of Vietnam

Come learn about the historical and contemporary cultures of Vietnam through the art of music. Participants will be guided through musical genres in Vietnam including courtly and folk styles as well as musical traditions from local Montagnard communities. A Đàn Tranh zither will be available for participants to interact with, and participants will learn to sing a Vietnamese folk song. We will also provide a compendium of resources about teaching Vietnamese music. Lunch will be served after the workshop.

Participants will receive a certificate from North Carolina Teaching Asia Network confirming 2 hours of professional development for the completion of this workshop.
