Study and write about selected 2025 Freeman Award books in this online multi-session workshop. Presented by the the East Asia Resource Center (EARC) in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington and facilitated by Lyn Jackson and Nora Douglas, educators have the opportunity to review the 2025 Freeman Award Winners for grades 2-12 classrooms, read and write about the texts, and share written responses with other writers. Participants receive free copies of the books and clock hours.

Participants choose one or more of the following sessions:
June 30:: Writer’s Workshop Sharing based upon The Beasts Beneath the Winds by Hanna Alcaf editor.
July 7: Writer’s Workshop Sharing based upon Writer’s Workshop Sharing based upon My Mother, the Mermaid Chaser by Jamie Jo Hoang, Picking Tea With Baba by Bin Xu, and The Endless Sea by Chi Thai.
July 14: Writer’s Workshop Sharing based upon Songs for Ghosts by Clara Kumaga.
July 21: Writer’s Workshop Sharing based upon Wild Song by Candy Gourlay.
July 28: Writer’s Workshop Sharing based upon Spacewalking With You. 1 by Inuhiko Doronoda, and Big Enough by Regina Linke.
